Battle Format

Pixelmon World Cup Battle Format: (Subject to change depending on PWC Season)

How Battle Format Works

We will now be using the Smogon Tier system for our battling formats as it is the most well known and used format system within the Competitive Pokémon Realm. We Will also be including some additional bans/allowances depending on the current bug states of the Pixelmon Mod.

Missing Pixelmon Moves

In case of a Pokémon’s species file not being completely updated in Pixelmon yet, the Pokemon may be used if:

  1. Moves are Functional in Pixelmon and Valid for a Pokémon to know in the Gen 9 NatDex
  2. The Sprite mode is enabled

National Dex SV Smogon Tier

We will be generally following the National Dex (NatDex) tier within the Smogon system. This tier can be seen here which can help with some battle strategies. With that being said, please note that it will not be strictly just NatDex because of the way Pixelmon works. Our Conclusive list can be found below.

Recovery Moves PP

In an effort to avoid stall matches/moves, we have set recovery moves to their Gen 9 PP amount. This is in the best interest of all participants and volunteers in order to respect everyone’s time.

Additionally, Wish has had a similar change to 5 min/8 max PP.

This is a change from the group stage, where PP amounts were the same as base Pixelmon base PP Up/Max was disabled on recovery moves. Battlers should be sure to use PP Max on recovery moves going forward.

Pixelmon Bugs

All known battle bugs are listed at the bottom of this page. Please review them, as using anything bugged will be at your own risk. Restarts/rebattles will not be done for battlers that run into these bugs.
