Hello, Everyone! Preparations for the Pixelmon World Cup 2024 are underway, and we’d like to update you all on the changes we’re making and the future of the PWC.
First, thanks to everyone who participated in and supported the 2023 PWC. This whole event is pretty ambitious, but despite the challenges the PWC faced, we’re proud of how the community pulled together to see the event to its grand conclusion!
We learned a lot from the 2023 PWC, and are using that experience to make many changes and improvements to the PWC going forward. These changes will help the tournament to run more smoothly and reduce possible issues and confusion.
We’re still working on updates, revisions, and changes, but here’s a quick look:
- More specific and clear requirements for participating servers (See: https://pixelmonworldcup.org/pwc-registration)
- Revised policies and setup that will make scheduling matches easier and more flexible
- More transparency in how the PWC is being run and who is involved
- More effort towards promoting the event
Finally, we wanted to share a brief statement about our community goals. The Pixelmon World Cup aims to be a fun event to bring the community together, so we want the public channels to stay positive and drama-free. Concerns and issues specifically with the PWC are of course welcome, as long as it remains civil.
Registration will open soon, stay tuned for updates on that and other details!
